Alexa Cappelli has never been one to keep her feelings locked inside, which is exactly why her songwriting is so captivating. Inspired by her experiences with veganism and environmentalism, the Southern California songstress embodies a free spirit we only wish we could achieve. To absolutely sweep you off your feet, Cappelli has unveiled her brilliant new single, “Temporary.”
On “Temporary,” Alexa Cappelli explained,
“‘Temporary’ is a nostalgic song that makes the future of my love life seem less daunting, being proud of myself for knowing what I want and not settling for anything less.”
Opening with swaying guitars, “Temporary” sets the scene for the demise of a summer romance that could no longer continue. While Cappelli recognizes that she made the right decision by ending things, “Temporary” still manages to pull at our heartstrings through vulnerable lyricism and soaring vocals. More than anything, we hope this emotive track will make you realize you shouldn’t settle for anything less than you deserve.
“When I wrote ‘Temporary,’ I had finally processed my previous summer situationship and how I ended things. It was the song I needed to remind myself that I did the right thing by not trying to change them. I want the kind of love that doesn’t need convincing, the love that is sure on both sides of the street.”
