Anyone who knows Abby Sage personally would agree that she’s an empathetic spirit who cares deeply about vulnerability and authenticity. It’s almost as if the Toronto native serves as our unlicensed therapist through her impactful songwriting. Having relocated to London, a spark reignited within Sage and she’s pleased to present yet another impeccable new single, “The Florist.”
Sonically, “The Florist” is minimalistic, calming, and utterly satisfying. Just as they are in every one of Sage’s tracks, her inescapable vocals are the absolute highlight as they’re layered atop steady percussion and chilling strumming. Using a florist as a metaphor for someone who simply wants to make any given situation better, Sage is able to paint a stunning visual through this lovely tune.
On “The Florist,” Abby Sage explained,
“I’m someone who’s so protective of their friends. When something is broken, I want to fix it. And a florist is someone who through their actions makes a room prettier – because flowers always manage to do that.”
