Hailey Haus went from trying to sell her own CDs at nine years old, to an empowering woman who’s changing the world with her emotionally charged pop bangers. Now based in Dallas, Haus spends most of her time writing and producing flawless tracks that certainly put her name on the map. If you haven’t heard of Haus yet, we invite you to lose your mind with her edgy new single, “Flavor of the Month.”
Ultimately inspired by a diss, “Flavor of the Month” is a playful take on the exhausting trials and tribulations of dating as a young adult. Not only is the lyricism incredibly clever, but the rock flair we hear throughout the track suggests that Haus is even more versatile than we expected. Whether you’ve dated 12 suitors in a year or not, “Flavor of the Month” is well worth a listen.
On “Flavor of the Month,” Hailey Haus explained,
“It’s a story about taking the power back in a sense. At the time, I was single, and I was trying to find the right guy. I talked to a handful of boys over this one year. In my mind, I’m looking for my husband. Behind my back, some girl said, ‘Oh my Gosh, Hailey always has a flavor of the month.’ I was so bothered, because I’m not trying to talk to a million guys for no reason; I’m looking for the right person to commit my life to. One day, I thought what she said would be a hilarious concept for a song, so I made it my own.”
