One fateful morning way before the crack of dawn, david terner and Jacob Maul decided to hop on Discord and write a song that’d become a precious tune fit for the indie gods. You’d be just as shocked as we were to discover what two talented high schoolers can achieve when they’re sleep deprived and facing teenage woes. Collaborating entirely remotely, terner and Maul somehow managed to sweep us off our feet with their earwormy new single, “You Cast a Spell on Me.”
On “You Cast a Spell on Me,” david terner shared,
“I wrote a song about a girl hiding crystals in my jacket to make me fall in love with her.”
While we’ve never been one to experience the power of crystals, “You Cast a Spell on Me” leaves us fully entranced as if a chunk of rose quartz is in our pocket. With irresistible bass grooves and addictive melodies, “You Cast a Spell on Me” really checks all the boxes of a bedroom pop hit. Needless to say, terner and Maul are two up-and-coming musical masterminds you’d better keep your eyes on.
Jacob Maul added,
“I bet you didn’t know that a couple of high schoolers who live 1000 miles apart made this song at 3 a.m. and now it’s on all streaming platforms for your summer vibe playlists.”
