almost monday is the San Diego trio that practically celebrates summer all year long with their beaming bangers. Comprised of Dawson Daugherty, Cole Clisby, and Luke Fabry, almost monday has been treating us to brilliant indie pop since 2020, and they’re nowhere near done yet. If you’re looking for a cheeky taste of California pop, almost monday delivers the perfect combination of beachy and good fun in their vibrant new single, “sun keeps on shining.”
We’re immediately thrown into playful strumming and humming as “sun keeps on shining” introduces itself as a tasteful summer bop. Written about how life goes on no matter how you choose to live it, “sun keeps on shining” encourages us to adopt a half-full mentality, which would definitely do us all some good. To top it off, the accompanying music video was shot during the band’s first trip to Australia, so you’re welcome to count how many kangaroos and koalas grace the screen.
