Zach Hood Lives His Best Life with “Just Kids”

By Alissa Arunarsirakul // November 12, 2021

A self-taught pianist, Zach Hood finds a way to accomplish quite literally everything he puts his mind to. Although he describes himself as a simple kid from Alabama, we’d argue that his name deserves to be known worldwide. Having landed a deal with Arista Records, this boy-next-door continues his thrilling journey with his exuberant new single, “Just Kids.”

With an endless stream of expectations thrust upon us, it can be difficult to make a decision that won’t have everyone pissed off, which is exactly what Hood touches on in “Just Kids.” Understandably so, Hood urges us to pay no mind to all of the societal pressures and ultimately do what makes us happy. Instrumentally, we’re surrounded by jubilant electronics that make it impossible to be stressed while “Just Kids” is blasting.

On “Just Kids,” Zach Hood explained,

“[‘Just Kids’] is super important to me because its message is that you don’t have to choose between being mature or being someone who wants to let loose. I see a lot of artists pick a so-called lane and continue to write about mostly the same topics. Well, I want to be different and I believe this song shows that.”
