It’s been a few months since we’ve covered will hyde, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been making moves since then. The 22-year-old Melbourne charmer is always hard at work on crafting introspective cuts that simultaneously make us want to jump around. Taken off his forthcoming sophomore EP, nothing ever changes, hyde is pleased to present his swirly new single, “fukced up.”
With plenty of experience writing about mental health, hyde tackles the external pressures we face as young adults in “fukced up.” Drenched in whirling electronics and bouncy sonics, “fukced up.” encourages us to realize that it’s perfectly fine to be overwhelmed and take breaks every now and then. If you’ve been feeling anxious or stressed lately, let hyde ease your mind with his lighthearted melodies in “fukced up.”
On “fukced up.,” will hyde explained,
“I wrote ‘fukced up.’ in a time when I was constantly feeling mood swings and unstable. However you’re feeling is OKAY. Sit with it and take the time to breathe for a second. Particularly in the Western world, there are so many pressures to do things: whether it’s getting a job, making money, or doing something that gives you purpose. I think sometimes we just need to take a step back and be like, “This is fukced up!“
