Eerie xylophones and spooky electronics perfectly set the tone of this introspective anthem. Written about her deepest regrets and finding the good within, “mercy” has KiNG MALA serving as the ringmaster of the carnival that is her brain. To top it off, the accompanying visual presents KiNG MALA’s mysterious alter ego, who may or may not have the best intentions.
On “mercy,” KiNG MALA explained,
“I have said things I will regret forever and every day I search for the good within me and search for the proof that those things are not who I really am. Sometimes all you can do is forgive yourself and look for the good… that’s what this song means to me.”
