Ahead of his forthcoming EP, Slush Puppy has unleashed his hypnotic new single, “Barbie Doll.”
Drenched in enticing vocal warps and electrifying synths, “Barbie Doll” is one of those unskippable tracks that’ll be stuck in your head for the foreseeable future. Written about overcompensating for insecurities, “Barbie Doll” captures exactly what plenty of us have experienced when we act differently so someone will like us. On “Barbie Doll,” Slush Puppy explained,
“‘Barbie Doll’ is about wanting to be with someone so bad that you are willing to change your entire self and character to keep their attention. I wanted to creatively express what it feels like to overcompensate for being insecure.”
