Coming to us from the south side of Chicago, Baren Abel is exactly what the soul scene needs right now. From writing to arranging to producing, Abel prides himself on playing a pivotal role in every step of the musical process when it comes to his personal releases. Channeling the romantic side of himself, Abel gives it his all in his captivating debut single, “see.”
Although “see” is inspired by a conversation Abel had with his troubled friend, it’s quite clear that Abel feels a deep connection to this vulnerable track. With the occasional falsetto, “see” spoils us with irresistible vocals and stellar production work. Without a doubt, we can confirm that Abel is one of the emerging acts we’re most looking forward to in 2021.
On “see,” Baren Abel reflected,
“‘see’ was birthed from a conversation I had with a close friend of mine who was in a relationship and felt unsure as to whether or not his feelings were unrequited. He was constantly looking for little signs to place validity on her feelings for him because she never really showed or said it. When you love someone, you’ve gotta let them know. Those feelings have to be abundantly clear, real and ‘true.’”
