Tim Atlas is the absolute king when it comes to R&B-infused neo-soul love songs, so you’d better familiarize yourself with this Los Angeles-based wunderkind sooner rather than later. A self-made musician, producer, photographer, videographer, and graphic designer, Atlas really does go above and beyond with everything he does. Before he unveils his forthcoming EP, QUOTA, Atlas is giving us a generous preview by way of his charming new single, “Courtside.”
Seamlessly stitching together pop, R&B, and indie influences, “Courtside” makes us expect someone to knock on our door with a bouquet of roses in hand. Comparing intangible love to attaining impossible seats for a sports game, “Courtside” has Atlas fully on cloud nine as he exudes confidence like never before. Opening with a young boy strutting his stuff on the trumpet, the accompanying visual follows this lovestruck lad as he dreams about his crush all day long.
On “Courtside,” Tim Atlas reflected,
“This song is about love. In sports, it’s so farfetched to get courtside seats and this is about getting someone out of your league. Exuding confidence and being yourself!”
