If you’re constantly scrolling on TikTok, you may have heard of Lubalin. The Montreal-based singer-songwriter-producer has amassed hundreds of millions of views on his videos, but it’s about time you familiarize yourself with his untouchable musical abilities. Never afraid of letting his curiosity run wild, Lubalin explores a more serious side of himself in his ravishing new single, “double helix.”
Written and produced by Lubalin, “double helix” is exactly what we’d like to hear more of in the mainstream pop scene. Lubalin’s vulnerability and openness paired with cinematic instrumentals in “double helix” sounds like it should be in a drama film soundtrack. To top it off, the accompanying visual offers a backlit Lubalin on his knees belting the moody lyrics.
On “double helix,” Lubalin shared,
“‘double helix’ is the second ‘not-so-funny’ single I’ve released since my little internet blow up in January. It’s a different direction for me, so I’m just looking forward to seeing what the fans think!”
