After spending hundreds of hours watching YouTube tutorials about music production, Hayd majorly fell in love with the creative process. Although this Michigan-born newcomer achieved virality on TikTok, he’s remained as humble as ever, which is something we certainly shouldn’t take for granted. To introduce you to his mesmerizing bedroom pop, Hayd has unveiled his melancholic new single, “Airplane Mode.”
On “Airplane Mode,” Hayd explained,
“The best way to sum it up is… the song is a heartfelt letter to my friends. It’s about the contrasting emotions I’ve been feeling. On one hand, I’m so excited to be on this journey of music and maybe touring, which I’ve always dreamed of, but at the same time I don’t get to see my friends as much and they’re such a big part of my life.”
Fully aware of how much his life has changed in just a year, Hayd dedicates “Airplane Mode” to his closest friends that have always supported his musical aspirations. A delightfully bittersweet cut, “Airplane Mode” has Hayd realizing that he won’t be able to make as many memories with his friends if he chooses to focus on his music career. With simple production work and wholesome vocals, “Airplane Mode” is more than enough reason of why you should add Hayd to your radar immediately.
“That song ‘Changes,’ which started all of this, was written for them too. None of them have heard the song, so I’m super excited for them to listen to it. But yea, it’s just a reflection on the crazy past six months of my life.”
