We all love a gorgeous duet, but trust us when we say you’ve never heard anything like Cian Ducrot and Cate together. As both pop newcomers continue to hone their songwriting skills, we’re incredibly impressed by how effortless this collaboration seems. If you haven’t already, we invite you to light some candles and sway along to their sorrowful new single, “Know Me Again.”
On “Know Me Again,” Cian Ducrot reflected,
“Cate and I wrote ‘Know Me Again’ over FaceTime, and then we kind of forgot about it for a long time. It wasn’t until my nearly five year relationship had ended that we came back to this song to finish it, and we realized how special it was. This was one of the first songs Cate and I ever wrote together, and it was the start of a wonderful friendship and songwriting journey. This song means the world to us both.”
Whether you’ve been through a terrible breakup or not, you can’t deny that “Know Me Again” makes you feel like you’ve just had your heart broken. Although this tear jerker has Ducrot and Cate wishing they could start anew in their respective relationships, “Know Me Again” reminds us that we’ll have plenty of opportunities with people we’re more compatible with. To top it off, the accompanying visual forces us to feel Ducrot and Cate’s inescapable pain as they belt the moving lyrics.
