Ever since she penned her first song at age 11, Matilda Mann has been entirely committed to growing as a songwriter. Now 21 years old, Mann is prepared to leave you stunned with her delicate lyricism. If you haven’t already, close your blinds from the outside world, put on your earphones, and sway along to Mann’s immaculate new single, “Doomsday.”
On “Doomsday,” Matilda Mann shared,
“I wrote this in the December lockdown, when everything felt shit and it seemed like the world was falling apart. It’s a reminder to enjoy each other and all the little things in life.”
Considering the current pandemic, it’s safe to say we’ve all wondered what it’d be like if the world came to a screeching halt. Written in lockdown, “Doomsday” has Mann recognizing how important it is to appreciate the small moments life has to offer because we don’t know how much more time we have together. There’s no doubt that Mann’s alluring strumming paired with her utterly angelic vocals will make you feel like you’re relaxing in a breezy meadow of dandelions.
“Thank you so much to everyone who’s been streaming and sharing. I’m overwhelmed with all the love on ‘Doomsday.’ You’re all so damn lovely.”
