We’ve been massive fans of Zachary Knowles since we first heard his emotive discography, and so will you. Wavering somewhere between indie pop and R&B, Knowles’ relatable music offers reassurance to those of us who rely on music as a type of therapy. As if he hasn’t already spoiled us enough, Knowles outdoes himself with a refreshing new single, “dancing in the kitchen.”
On “dancing in the kitchen,” Zachary Knowles explained,
“Honestly, I just wanted to write a really happy song with this one. Usually, my songs have sad undertones, so I felt like it was time to write one that was just happy and felt good all the way through.”
Straying away from his typical sad boy lyricism, Knowles has finally crafted a feel good track, “dancing in the kitchen,” just in time for summer. Between the charming ukuleles and wholesome guitars, we hear Knowles appreciating the beauty of staying in with someone you love. Especially at a time when we should refrain from gathering in large groups, “dancing in the kitchen” makes us want to host a virtual dance party with our best friends.
“When I’m doing the dishes, I always blare music and dance, so I wanted to share that feeling with others and give them something we could both dance to.”
