Coming in hot from San Antonio is Julian Skiboat, one of the most precious indie artists you’ll ever come across. The 24-year-old newcomer takes on an exceptionally hands on approach, as he made all of his music on his iPhone up until recently. As he continues to hone his genre-bending sound, Skiboat treats us to a delectable new single, “My Room.”
On “My Room,” Julian Skiboat shared,
“It’s about feeling bored, lonely, and stagnant. I have such a love for this song because I think it really represents me well. Having this upbeat, happy instrumental with slightly somber lyrics really embodies me as a whole.”
If you listen past the tropical guitars and enticing clapping, you’ll notice the melancholic lyricism in “My Room.” A reflection of the loneliness and frustration Skiboat has been feeling throughout the current pandemic, “My Room” is definitely going to resonate with listeners around the world. With only a handful of singles to his name, we’re incredibly thrilled to see what the future has in store for Skiboat.
“I think with my upcoming songs and projects I really want to dive into that kind of like, ‘it could be worse, I can make it through this’ message.”
