Sophia Fracassi is very much in tune with her mind and heart, as we can sense in her growing discography. The 17-year-old Canadian newcomer strives to create a safe haven for listeners, and might we say she’s successfully doing so. Now ready to stun the world with her emotive songwriting, Fracassi introduces herself with a heartbreaking debut single, “Wish I Never Met You.”
On “Wish I Never Met You,” Sophia Fracassi shared,
“‘Wish I Never Met You’ is a heartbreak anthem about being hurt by someone that you loved deeply. You should probably let them go, but now they’re all tangled up in your heart and mind. They are a part of your life, a part of you. The only way to get out of it without even more pain is simply if you had never met them at all.”
Just like the rest of us, heartbreak has been one of the most painful feelings Fracassi has endured. As the mesmerizing newcomer belts the vulnerable lyrics, “Wish I Never Met You” brings tears to our eyes with ease. With Fracassi’s powerful vocals soaring atop cinematic strings arrangements, “Wish I Never Met You” really does touch our hearts–and it’ll certainly do the same to yours.
“The writing of this was really raw, sitting at the piano late at night. A broken heart is painful, so I hope this song allows you to process those emotions in whatever way you need to.
