If we’re being totally transparent, the Bangkok-born, Los Angeles-based spill tab is one of the buzziest newcomers we’ve had the pleasure of familiarizing ourselves with as of late. Now that the French-Korean artist has perfected her own brand of lo-fi alternative pop, the music world has taken notice, and it’s only a matter of time until we’ll see her name everywhere. If you haven’t already, we highly recommend you give spill tab a listen with her thrilling new single, “PISTOLWHIP.”

On “PISTOLWHIP,” spill tab explained,

“I wanted to imagine what it’d be like in the head of someone who’s just finding out they’re being cheated on. They’re vacillating between pure rage and just wanting to hold on ’cause they love that person so deeply, and then the underlying issues of that relationship sort of start to show in the second verse. It’s just a descent into madness, I guess.”

Even if you’ve never been cheated on, “PISTOLWHIP” will surely make you feel like you’ve caught your partner red handed. With sporadic bursts of screeching guitars, “PISTOLWHIP” hears spill tab experimenting with practically every idea that’s crossed her mind. To top it off, the accompanying visual invites us on a treacherous dirt bike ride with spill tab in the brutally windy desert.

“It was… SO fucking cold the day we shot ‘PISTOLWHIP.’ It was like 22 degrees and I’m ripping around on a tiny dirt bike with only a scarf holding my titties together. Jade (the director and editor) was such a trooper and was just getting it done and we had so many laughs. She also managed to make me look so badass on this little machine that was maxing out at like 20 mph. It was awesome.”
