Jayde Finds Confidence in Love with “f this”

By Alissa Arunarsirakul // March 5, 2021

Most known for her breathtaking ballads, Jayde is a one-of-a-kind artist you wouldn’t dare to underestimate. With exceptional songwriting skills, Jayde perfectly encapsulates the highs and lows of modern love, which will bring tears to your eyes instantly. Now ready to take 2021 by storm, Jayde bestows us with her newfound confidence through her anthemic new single, “f this.”

On “f this,” Jayde explained,

“I know for myself and a lot of other people, it is getting increasingly hard to be vulnerable, especially in romantic situations. Most of us have immense trust issues, and it is really difficult to let new people in. With this song, I wanted to channel the fear of falling in love and turn it into a position of confidence and power.”

Coming to us from a place of uncertainty, “f this” was written when Jayde realized she doesn’t need to rely on anyone other than herself for happiness. It’d be remiss to not highlight the pulsating beats and ear wormy synths, but Jayde’s versatile vocals are what impresses us most. Directed by Kevin Lien, the accompanying visual is a cinematic masterpiece that showcases Jayde’s bubbly personality with a hint of romanticism.

“This is the first music video I have done where we sat down and actually planned out each scene with explicit detail. We worked together to figure out what the motive was behind every character and how they felt. It was such an exciting, challenging, and rewarding process, and I’m so incredibly proud and grateful for the entire crew – I cried as soon as we wrapped.”
