As human beings, we experience some of the most complex emotions and unthinkable traumas, and Rosie Darling just so happens to pen the most precious songs about these very moments. With millions of Spotify streams under her belt, Darling surely deserves a spot on your coveted radar, and she’ll prove that to you with her luscious indie pop. If you don’t believe us, we invite you to spin her delicately gorgeous new single, “Water Me Down.”
On “Water Me Down,” Rosie Darling reflected,
“After living in LA for a few years, I’ve experienced my fair share of judgment, whether in the music industry or my day-to-day friendships. As I grow, I recognize who is loving and supporting me unconditionally. ‘Water Me Down’ is about realizing who those people are and embracing them while also being brave enough to let go of those I want to fix or change; I’ve learned the hard way that I am not responsible for their choices.”
Between the otherworldly sonic warps and wholesome lyricism, “Water Me Down” paints an immaculate depiction of Darling’s artistic abilities. As Darling acknowledges the loving people in her life who support her endlessly, “Water Me Down” reminds us to build ourselves up, rather than knocking each other down. Saturated in pink and blue tones, the accompanying visual features a drenched Darling by the poolside as she gets plunged into the water.
“This song is sort of a note to self about remembering your worth and that you are ALREADY enough. You are already ‘flowing over’ with worth, and no one is allowed to take that away from you.”
