Whether it’s her undeniable authenticity or lovable personality, there’s something particularly special about Dasha. The Nashville-based talent has been steadily growing a sizable fan base on TikTok, and all of Dasha’s followers would say she needs to be on your radar. Ahead of her forthcoming debut EP, Dasha gets vulnerable with us in her sorrowful new single, “21st Birthday.”
On “21st Birthday,” Dasha shared,
“I feel like birthdays are… an excuse to put a messy history in the past and show that you’re still thinking about them. In ‘21st Birthday,’ the one person in the entire world I wanted to reach out to me, never called.”
It can be incredibly rough to not have your ex celebrate your milestones with you after they promised to be with you forever, which is a heartbreaking feeling Dasha knows all too well. After one listen of “21st Birthday,” the emotive guitars and Dasha’s passionate vocals ring loud and clear. Although “21st Birthday” is devastatingly melancholic, it serves as a reminder that not everyone who enters your life is meant to stay.
“You could be in a crowded room full of people who love you, but still feel so alone if just that one person you wish was around isn’t there.”
