You may recognize sad alex from her recent collaborative hit with gnash, “i’m glad that you found someone,” but she’s so much more gifted than you realize. Having already written for big names like Kelly Rowland and Jordin Sparks, sad alex is proving to the world why she deserves to be on the top charts for her own growing discography. Without further ado, we’d like to introduce you to sad alex’s infectious indie pop with her swirling new single, “dating myself.”
On “dating myself,” sad alex explained,
“Dating is weird and hard and confusing and a lot of work, so I found a loophole. Rather than digging through new people or recycling old exes, why not date someone you’ve literally known your entire life? No, I don’t mean your parents. That’s weird, stop. And maybe it’s time for you to move out of their basement. I mean you. Yeah, YOU!”
No longer subjecting herself to time-consuming relationships with pathetic losers, sad alex learns to love herself with “dating myself.” Between the striking guitar plucks and soul stirring electronics, “dating myself” is a fantastic cut that only makes us even more enlivened for sad alex’s future releases. For those of you who’ve been putting up with horrible relationships, it’s about time for you to recognize how much happier you could be dating yourselves.
“Date yourself, baby. No mysteries there. No pointless fights about what to do for date night, no pent-up frustration about those weird mouth noises they make while eating potato chips, no more clumsy, clueless clowns. Fall in love with yourself and watch your life fall into place. Thank me later!”
