From the young age of seven, Delacey has been a songwriter and pianist–and she’s only continued to progress since then. Now with writing credits for Halsey, Demi Lovato, and The Chainsmokers hits, Delacey is quite the accomplished artist. After reigniting her spark for music, Delacey is back and stronger than ever with her new single, “Everything You Need To Know About Me Today.”
On “Everything You Need To Know About Me Today,” Delacey reflected,
“‘Everything You Need To Know About Me Today’ is not intended as a pop song. It’s 15 verses. I don’t know what it is, but this song is healing in a very surreal way. I have been through a lot in my life and have been too scared to face some things that have happened when I was too young. I cried after writing it, but I also felt so alive and free. In a way, I felt like I had been waiting my whole life to write and sing these words.”
Opening with hushed acoustics, “Everything You Need To Know About Me Today” takes us through some of the most impactful moments of Delacey’s personal life. With an accompanying short film directed by her cousin, Spencer Leonard, “Everything You Need To Know About Me Today” will genuinely bring tears to your face as Delacey strips herself down to her core. At the end of this heart wrenching track, Delacey reminds us that we’re in control of our mindsets–and more importantly, our lives.
“I recorded this song under a blanket in my house with the very first guitar I ever owned and a glass of whiskey. I’m singing with my emotions in this moment, and also a little drunk, and recorded it for myself, not for anyone else. This song inspired me to write again and I can’t wait to share my second album with my beautiful fans who stuck with me.”
