After a three year hiatus from music, Heather Rivas is back and better than ever before. The Los Angeles born and raised musician proudly incorporates her queer identity into her personal songwriting, which listeners have certainly resonated with. As her first release of 2021, Rivas is pleased to present her edgy new single, “Think of Me.”
Whether it was your middle school crush or the man of your dreams, we’ve all been drawn to the idea of someone, and unlike most of us… Rivas is willing to admit it. Drenched in boisterous percussion and gritty guitars, “Think of Me” hears Rivas’ DIY instrumentation that we don’t get often in mainstream music nowadays. On “Think of Me,” Heather Rivas reflected,
“A lot of us have been in a place where we realize we’re late in communicating or we just avoid it all together because it’s uncomfortable. Most of the time, infatuation is pretty unhealthy and I don’t think most of us ever want to admit out loud that we’ve been infatuated with someone.”
