Shortly after forming one of the most anticipated indie pop bands to ever exist, 19&YOU made their way over to Los Angeles from Sydney. This considerable leap of faith is more than certain to lead to bigger and better things, as 19&YOU is already gaining traction on our airwaves. If you’re looking for stellar indie pop, 19&YOU is ready to blow you away with their infectious new single, “BORED!”
On “BORED!,” 19&YOU explained,
“This was a song that we really didn’t have an end goal in mind when we started. There wasn’t any reference or inspiration for it other than knowing we wanted a track that had a consistent guitar line throughout. Once we found that, the rest of the song fell into place pretty organically.”
With lively guitar licks and bouncy synths, “BORED!” showcases 19&YOU’s charisma we really can’t get enough of. Plenty of us have been through rough patches when it comes to dating, but 19&YOU has penned a fantastic track surrounding this very struggle. As if “BORED!” wasn’t enough, the accompanying visual lets us join 19&YOU onstage for a virtual performance to prepare us for what’s to come in their future live shows.
“It was one of those songs that started from a space of vulnerability and turned into just us having fun. There weren’t any rules of what we could or couldn’t do; as long as it felt good, we added it to the song. To a certain extent the song is satire, it’s so over the top sassy, and none of us are that way in real life. But I think the hyperbole of it all is what makes it so engaging.”
