Tayo Sound Isn’t Quite Over His Ex in “Someone New”

By Alissa Arunarsirakul // October 16, 2020

By the age of 14, Tayo Sound had already been busking on Reading streets and learning the intense ways of the music industry. Fast forward to 2020, and Sound already has plans to unleash his highly-anticipated debut EP. To introduce you to this British newcomer, Sound invites you to vibe along to his relatable new single, “Someone New.”

Sound very much embodies a DIY approach that we’ve been hearing more of lately in “Someone New,” but his eclectic tendencies are far better than the others. With “Someone New,” Sound connects with listeners that aren’t quite over their exes just yet. To pair with this relaxed track comes a light-hearted visual that has Sound exploring the great outdoors with a bubble blower in hand.

On “Someone New,” Tayo Sound shared,

“’Someone New’ was produced by Rob [Milton], who I’ve wanted to work with for a while now. I’m a big Easy Life fan so working with him was a no brainer for me. The track is about coming out of a relationship and how you might not actually be ready to find ‘someone new,’ something I think most of us would have experienced at a point in our lives.”
