Coming in hot from Scandinavia is an emerging act you’d be a fool to ignore: Oliver Malcolm. Although he’s only 20 years old, this multifaceted artist has already worked with recognizable names like Joey Bada$$ and Tinashe. Now ready to launch his solo career, Malcolm is pleased to offer us an organic new single, “Outside.”
Written about the downfall of countless rockstars with non-traditional lifestyles, “Outside” has Malcolm analyzing what it’s really like to be famous. Malcolm’s pleasantly raw approach to this acoustic track is more than we could’ve asked for, and it’s more than enough reason to add him to your radar immediately. Loneliness is a significant part of being a celebrity, and Malcolm embodies this to a tee in the accompanying visual.
On “Outside,” Oliver Malcolm shared,
“The roller coaster lifestyle of these rockstars–up and downs, triumphs and losses, which everyone experiences in life. The constant battle between good and evil no matter how small or large it may be. Of course, this is just one aspect of life, but nevertheless, I feel that it touches on many different themes and presents interesting questions that we must ask ourselves from time to time.”
