For those of you who haven’t been fortunate enough to know rei brown, allow us to introduce you to this rising talent. brown credits Jai Paul and Sampha as two of his musical inspirations, but it’s quite clear that brown has managed to craft an original lo-fi R&B soundscape that’ll knock out all the amateurs. To keep up with his string of releases this year, brown is delivering an entrancing new single, “Honest.”
Opening with a gentle piano arrangement, “Honest” immediately whisks us off our feet and straight into brown’s alluring essence. As he accepted the fact that he was no longer in love with the person he thought he truly cherished, brown recognized that it was finally time to move on. Even after a two year hiatus, brown still manages to captivate us with this Diamond Pistols-produced track.
On “Honest,” rei brown shared,
“I made a lot of promises. When I realized I couldn’t keep those promises, it almost felt easier to keep pretending then to face reality.”
