Not many 24-year-olds are out chasing their dreams, but María Isabel certainly is doing that and more. The Queens, New York native works tirelessly every day to grow her music career–and she’s not stopping anytime soon. Before she unveils her forthcoming EP, Stuck in the Sky, Isabel is treating us to an alluring new single, “Distance.”
On “Distance,” María Isabel shared,
“I think the song really was just coming out of the frustration of, nothing can really replace being in person. ‘Distance makes the heart grow fonder,’ I feel like is the favorite line of like, ‘Oh, you’ll see that person again, and missing them as a good thing. You have a person to miss. And it’s just like, those things definitely help for a minute or two, but at the end of the day, it’s like we’ve gone months without seeing each other and we don’t know when the next time will be.”
Ten seconds into the stunning track, we’re introduced to Isabel’s angelic vocals, which already leave us completely speechless. As Isabel’s charisma shines in “Distance,” we can’t ignore the whirling electronics and flawless production. Shot in Los Angeles, the accompanying visual makes us wish we could be with our significant others every second of every day.
“So overwhelmed by all the love on ‘Distance’ already. I love you guys so much. Thank you for letting me do what I love most.”
