Nyah Grace may have grown up in the peaceful countryside, but now it’s quite clear that she’s destined for a life chock-full of worldwide tours and sizable record deals. Now based in the UK, the 18-year-old talent has unveiled her stunning debut record, Honey-Coloured, which has been well-received by practically everyone. As if Grace couldn’t spoil us enough, she’s now treating us to a lovely new visual for “My Sista Told Me.”
On “My Sista Told Me,” Nyah Grace elaborated,
“It’s just supposed to be about womanhood and sisterhood. [Corinne Bailey Rae and I] aren’t crazy close, but she was really great at being there and mentoring the two times we did get to meet. She helped me with a lot of things I’m struggling with–like being so young and doing this because she obviously has so much experience.”
“My Sista Told Me” is an ode to those like Corinne Bailey Rae or Grace’s very own mother, who’ve all played a significant role in shaping who she is today. The gorgeous new video is adorned with breathtaking sunflower fields once a pensive Grace falls into a deep slumber. After being whisked away to Grace’s beautiful world of nature, we’re convinced that Grace will be playing on major airwaves worldwide in no time.
“But I feel like the ‘Sista’ in the song is a lot of people. I feel like it’s my mom, my actual sister. It’s all of the people who have ever given me advice and I feel like it’s just celebrating women.”
