There are oftentimes rivalries that arise between brothers, but Abner and Harper James have instead decided to join forces to form one of our favorite indie-pop acts: Eighty Ninety. With stunning tracks that certainly belong on romantic 80s movies’ soundtracks, Eighty Ninety has an enrapturing aura we can’t quite put into words. The Brooklyn-based duo is now treating us to a striking new single, “Happier.”
Between Abner’s alluring vocals and Harper’s enchanting acoustics, “Happier” presents an incredibly delightful scene straight from our imagination. As we’re guided through an ethereal experience in “Happier,” Eighty Ninety holds onto love like never before. After one listen, you’ll realize that Eighty Ninety has successfully made you cry tears of joy and sorrow at the same time.
On “Happier,” Eighty Ninety shared,
“There are so many people we love and miss that we can’t be with, and a lot of late night calls to try and bridge that distance. We all want the best for the people we love. Sometimes, that means letting each other go. ‘Happier’ is about wanting to hold on for just a little bit longer.”
