LEISURE has been on our radar for quite some time, and for good reason. With several years of music experience put together, the New Zealand five-piece brings nothing but positive vibes our way. Ahead of their highly-anticipated forthcoming EP, Side A, LEISURE is leaving us stunned with their luscious new single, “Spark It Up.”
On “Spark It Up,” LEISURE explained,
“‘Spark It Up’ is one of the first tracks we wrote on our writing trip in France. We had been away from our significant others for a few weeks so we were all feeling pretty sentimental.”
Wavy guitars and delectable synths are just the beginning of LEISURE. As the Kiwis get sentimental in “Spark It Up,” we can’t help but sway our bodies left and right. The accompanying visual offers a video compilation of their therapeutic experience in the French countryside, which is where they wrote “Spark It Up.”
“The song follows quite a strange structure; it starts with the chorus, with each of the boys following with their own verse depending on how they related to the chorus lyrics, giving the song various expressions of the same theme.”
