Our favorite sad boy is back at it again, folks! It hasn’t even been two full months since LVRBOY unleashed ghost in my room, and he’s already treating us to more delectable music. If you haven’t already, prepare to fall in love with LVRBOY by way of his nostalgic new single, “CRYING ON THE PHONE.”
Moody synths and heartbreaking lyricism are two musical elements LVRBOY can’t seem to live without, and neither can we. As LVRBOY is caught between the hopeful future and his lingering past, “CRYING ON THE PHONE” pulls at our heartstrings like never before. More than anything, “CRYING ON THE PHONE” serves as a reminder to be confident and vocal with what you want–especially when it comes to relationships.
On “CRYING ON THE PHONE,” LVRBOY reflected,
“‘CRYING ON THE PHONE’ was inspired by the back and forth so many [people] experience in ‘on-and-off-again’ relationships. One minute they don’t want you, and the next minute they’re on the phone crying about how much they miss you; more times than not it’s after you’ve moved on. I experienced this at the beginning of quarantine and was so left in the dark about it all and, because she had done it a few times, the whole song is basically me having a sort of epiphany and realizing that history really does repeat itself.”
