Baker Grace’s “Pops” Is a Nostalgic Ode to Fathers Everywhere

By Alissa Arunarsirakul // June 17, 2020

Baker Grace is far more polished than the average alternative pop artist, so don’t try to convince us otherwise. With the most angelic vocals, the 19-year-old continues to leave us stunned one release after another, and we just can’t get enough of her. In honor of Father’s Day, Grace is more than pleased to present her ethereal new single, “Pops.”

On “Pops,” Baker Grace explained,

“Nobody understands me like my dad does. Our countless late night conversations, car rides listening to music, and days spent singing while he plays the guitar have heavily shaped who I have become. I wrote ‘Pops’ to show him how much he truly means to me.”

For those of us who have special connections with our fathers, “Pops” is a flawless ode to the men that raised us to be who we are today. As Grace recalls the fatherly advice she was given years ago, she reassures her father that this wisdom didn’t go in one ear and right out the other. Grace may only be 19, but she has a musical gift far beyond her years, and you’d be smart to add her to your radar sooner rather than later.

“I hope anyone who loves or connects with their father or any role model in their life can relate and use this song to express their appreciation. We can’t ever forget the people who believed in us from the beginning.”
