Leah Kate hasn’t always been the most self-assured person, but her confidence has truly skyrocketed since she began her music career. Even if you’ve never heard of Kate before, we guarantee that you’ll fall in love with her captivating soundscape and charismatic personality instantly. As she continues to make moves in the music industry, she’s proud to present her stunning new single, “Fuck Up the Friendship.”

On “Fuck Up the Friendship,” Leah Kate explained,

“‘Fuck Up the Friendship’ was inspired by my experience falling for a friend who I never thought I would fall for. I really valued our friendship, but the feelings were just too strong to ignore. And yet again, I created another homemade video during quarantine. It’s supposed to take you through the mental state of falling for someone – I used abstract objects that are representative of love and friendship while also providing a nostalgic, vintage vibe.”

Cheery synths and charming vocals are just some things we madly appreciate about Kate’s “Fuck Up the Friendship.” As she attempts to slide past the infamous friend zone, Kate acknowledges that she could very well be losing an amazing friend by choosing to pursue something more with this person. To make your day even better, Kate has dropped the self-directed visual for “Fuck Up the Friendship,” which incorporates abstract objects to present a mental picture of what it’s like to fall for someone.

“At the end of the day, I wanted to bring good, fun vibes to people during this time. Music unites people and I hope someone can get a good dance out of it.”
