A young loren north couldn’t fall asleep without her cassette player turned on, and now she can’t live without fully dedicating herself to music. north’s honeyed indie pop is absolutely irresistible and it’s about time you familiarize yourself with this Cincinnati native. To welcome herself to your radar, north is delivering an infectious new single, “Push It Away.”
On “Push It Away,” loren north explained,
“I was going through a breaking point in a relationship when creating ‘Push It Away’ with the wonderful Brock Baker. While writing this song, I realized that I was the one pushing him away rather than it being the other way around. Funny how that happens.”
Most of us aren’t relationship experts, and devoting ourselves to someone really does take time and practice. Written about north’s hesitation in a past relationship, “Push It Away” has the Los Angeles-based songstress recognizing her own faults that could make or break the relationship. With subtle flutes layered beneath her wholesome vocals, “Push It Away” is a stellar example of why north is one of our favorite rising indie pop talents.
“So yeah, that’s why it’s so meaningful to me – I was reminding myself that although this doesn’t look perfect, it’s not supposed to. I’m going to put my guard down now and let you in.”
