Without a doubt, Polly Money is the Cornish newcomer ready to make waves with her euphoric pop. Because of her exceptional dedication to her craft, it’s not a surprise that Money has supported recognizable names, like Muse and Gabrielle Aplin, on tour. With a magnetizing aura, Money leaves us in a trance with her bold new single, “Astrid.”
On “Astrid,” Polly Money shared,
“[It’s] about earth-shattering sex … the kind of touch you know you’ll never forget and most likely never recover from!”
To put it plainly, “Astrid” is written about the crème de la crème of sex. Between the funky bass lines and alluring synths, “Astrid” truly does bring us to a state of musical ecstasy. The accompanying visual, which was innovatively shot on an iPhone and directed by Mila Austin via Zoom, features Money seated in front of an ever changing spotlight.
“I wrote this around the time I came out, which was such a liberating experience for me. This sudden ability to be open and having sex with someone I fancied that pants off and very much was in love with just blew my mind really, it was such a fun time. Chloe, my producer, had sent me the track to the song and I didn’t think much about it when I wrote it. I was feeling sexy and I wanted a sexy song to go with the fun I was having.”
