Australian DIY pop is in for the special treat that is Aaron Lee, also known as AIRPORTS. With two life threatening illnesses thrown his way, AIRPORTS is more than qualified to speak on his personal journey. As if he weren’t already impressive enough, AIRPORTS fully writes, sings, produces, and engineers his entire discography–including his ethereal new single, “U Feel It 2.”
AIRPORTS wasn’t quite sure what “U Feel It 2” was supposed to be about until it was finished. Upon completion, he discovered that the moody track surprisingly revolves around depression and romance. With delectable synths and whirling beats throughout, “U Feel It 2” has us longing for more from AIRPORTS.
On “U Feel It 2,” AIRPORTS explained,
“It started out being written as a song about a haunting relationship with depression in contrast to uplifting music, but when some of the lyrics started to spill out I realized I was also writing about positive romantic feelings for my partner. At that point, I was emotionally overwhelmed and realized this song has a great dualism.”
