Kyd the Band has always made it his mission to write straight from the heart, and we can confidently say he’s never once failed this task. The Nashville-based artist has been a long-time collaborator of gnash, so we’re not surprised that the talented friends have joined forces for a wholesome track. Without further ado, Kyd the Band and gnash welcome you into their studio with a touching new single, “Heartbreak Anthem.”
On “Heartbreak Anthem,” Kyd the Band shared,
“I love sad music. I’m just fascinated with how people respond to it, and I’m even more intrigued with how strongly heartbreak unites people together in a live concert setting. There’s something about being with thousands of other people singing a song together about your shared pain that’s pretty cathartic.”
Breakup anthems have been around for quite some time, but Kyd the Band and gnash are adding a unique twist on this concept by introducing a song about breakup songs. As Kyd the Band basks in the idea of a crowded room connecting with each other through heartbreak, gnash highlights society’s obsession with breakup anthems. Between the stirring electronics and easy-flowing lyricism, “Heartbreak Anthem” will likely be stuck in your head for many more breakups to come.
