The year was 2015 and a young Audrey Armacost nervously posted her first YouTube cover, questioning if anyone would even watch it. Fast forward to present day and the now 19-year-old has become one of the most adored names in indie pop with her flawless R&B-pop soundscape. Without catching a break from her latest release, Mika is spoiling us with her precious new single, “Just Friends.”

On “Just Friends,” Audrey Mika shared,

“‘Just Friends’ is officially out. Was so so lucky to be able to write this with my best friend in the world and collaborate with the homie Midi Jones on production.”

The thing is… we’ve all been unsure of how our crush felt about us at one point. Mika knows very well that it can be somewhat awkward to like someone and not know if actually they like you back, so she addresses this in “Just Friends.” With intoxicating electronics and delectable synths, “Just Friends” is Mika’s way of bringing us a spark of joy in our uncertain world state.

“It’s a new sound and a bop in my opinion. Pretty upbeat, but hopefully makes you happy during this weird time. Dance around! Vibe!! Lots of vibes!!”
