Carson Cheng had previously been prioritizing his acting career, but now the Canadian-Chinese singer is rightfully pursuing music under the moniker KICCC. Having only made his solo debut last year, it’s fascinating that KICCC already plans to unveil his first full-length album, The Water Knows, this summer. But before then, KICCC is offering us a generous taste of the forthcoming record with his tropical new single, “Iced Tea.”
On “Iced Tea,” KICCC explained,
“I was on a beach and saw this couple I know from Instagram taking photos while on holiday. It was curiously refreshing seeing how carefree and unapologetic their enjoyment in each other’s presence was and I was then inspired to write ‘Iced Tea.’”
Most of us may plan a relaxing getaway with the intention of being alone and fully at ease, but KICCC left a beach trip with a new song idea. Produced by ENAN, “Iced Tea” features whimsical beats and thrilling electronics that truly compose a fantastic house track. As KICCC basks in the daydream of existing in total peace and harmony with everything and everyone, “Iced Tea” reminds us all to make time for ourselves to unwind.
“For me, this song represents the fantasy of that sort of unabashed, decidedly naïve, pleasure which I think we all could use more of right now.”
