Arlo Parks has never been an ordinary girl. As someone who spent her childhood creating fantasy worlds much greater than our reality, Parks often lived in the right side of her brain. By age 17, Parks honed her musical craft and wrote brutally honest songs–which is reaffirmed by her captivating new single, “Black Dog.”
“Black Dog” may be about feeling helpless, but Parks sure does have an optimistic truth to tell through this evocative track. She suggests that mental health is more important now than ever before and together we can conquer each of our inner battles. The heartwarming “Black Dog” visual shares two narratives both centered around helping loved ones out of tough situations, but it’s up to you to find out how it ends.
On “Black Dog,” Arlo Parks explained,
“It’s supposed to make people who are struggling feel less isolated and start a conversation surrounding the prevalence of mental health issues in today’s world.”
