Ever since GRAE first became interested in piano and guitar as a curious child, she knew music would play a monumental role in her future. Now fearless as ever, GRAE has been hard at work on her sophomore EP, Bang Bang, which will embody her very genuineness we’ve all come to admire. But before we get to indulge in the new EP, GRAE is teasing us with an effervescent new single, “Slow Down.”

On “Slow Down,” GRAE reflected,

“‘Slow Down’ was fun to write because I had never explored this kind of topic before. I find, as a woman, sometimes it’s hard to express your wants and desires, in fear of being judged or shamed. So I wanted to touch on this subject to get more in tune with that side of myself.”

“Slow Down” is a silky smooth track brought to us by the heavens. With GRAE commenting on temptation and intimacy, “Slow Down” showcases the most luscious vocals and whirling electronics. The Priya Howlader-directed music video has GRAE sporting glittery eye makeup as she reveals her seductive personality to a helpless stranger at a jazz night. But it’s up to you to find out where the night leads them…

“The video stems from a vision I had of me singing in an old jazz cafe in front of a classic red curtain. Priya, the director, really made it come alive with her treatment and ideas. The concept is minimal but so beautifully executed.”
