Although LOVA has only been officially releasing music for two years, we have a lot to learn from this rising Swedish popstar. With thought-provoking lyricism and an exceptionally charming personality, LOVA makes it incredibly difficult for anyone to dislike her pop bangers. Drawing from authenticity and personal experiences, “Own Worst Enemy” is LOVA’s infectious new single that’ll have you doing a lot of self reflecting.
On “Own Worst Enemy, LOVA shared,
“If you were to ask me how I would sound if I [were] a song, I think this would’ve been it. ‘Own Worst Enemy’ is raw and honest, playful and quirky, self-critical and personal but also flirtatious and badass, just like me. In this song, I talk a lot about my inner struggles and insecurities and one of them is that I’ve always tried to be the ‘perfect girl.’”
What’s basically a page from her personal diary, “Own Worst Enemy” offers insight into LOVA’s deepest regrets and vulnerable confessions. Like many of us, LOVA has been conditioned to strive for perfection–whether it be from societal pressure or self expectations. Aside from the graceful acoustics, LOVA’s dynamic vocals make us blush with every carefully crafted verse.
“This song is a perfect introduction to my mind and for people to get to know me on a deeper and more personal level. But it’s also fun, feel good and is a perfect song for the spring. So I hope that people want to dance to it as well!”
