At just 15 years old, Empara Mi knew she was destined to be a musician so she moved to London to do so. Blending pop, hip-hop, and R&B with her immensely creative mind, Empara Mi is the next rising British/Irish artist who will bring you to tears. Ahead of her mini-album, Suitcase Full of Sins, Empara Mi is shipping us off to the land of stunning vocals and gorgeous guitar work in “Shout.”
On “Shout,” Empara Mi shared,
“To me, this song symbolizes the moment I realized I was absolutely fine being by myself and going after what makes me happy. That’s why I’m smiling in the video at the end–because it reminds me of that. I was writing about a time [when] I felt torn down and unaccepted for something that was so natural to me. All I wanted was to be around people who felt the same and wanted to raise each other up and that’s what I have now. And the last scene of the video is that physical interpretation and that’s why I love it so much.”
Written about relieving herself of everything that’s ever held her back, “Shout” has Empara Mi doing some major self reflecting–as we all should. “Shout” is layered with melancholic rhythm guitars and lovely vocals that’ll literally make you feel her intense emotions. The “Shout” visual presents a graceful dance routine by Ainsley Ricketts, who also stars in the passionate video.
“This video was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had. Not only did I get to work with my extremely talented friend Ainsley, who choreographed the video, but the directors IVO & STIP, and the whole team at Mill Channel were the most incredible bunch of people I’ve ever worked with.”
